2016! Wow I can not believe we are already here. My nephews are growing so fast. Which means I need to be concerned about their futures. Right? 2016 means it is time to choose a new leader for our country. It felt  like just yesterday we chose our first African American present, and now we may just have our first female president. 

      Boy, the recent elections have been so questionable. This years election has truly been a joke in my opinion. It has made me think so much about our country and the future of it. I am concerned for the future generations. I am extremely grateful that I am alive in a time as this. It is an important time in our country, where we have been making big changes in society, but at the same time I still have many concerns about the U.S. 

        Our country is so greedy and completely self centered. All of this provoked me to think about who we really should depend on to  make changes for this country. Should we depend on our leaders or our future generations?   

       Everything has been so corrupted by our leaders, can we truly depend on them? I think that we should switch our views from our leaders to our children. Our leaders are greedy and are doing nothing for us presently, or for our kin. They are playing us like puppets. Using our middle class to make large companies prosper. Disregarding the future of our country. So it is up us. We can not change much now, but there is still one thing we can do. We can help the new generation to change things. We can help them see that they have the power to change things. My generation is to comfortable, and passive. We need to make our children feel uncomfortable. Our health care system is not okay. Our education system is not okay. We are a free country. We need to truly rethink what that means. We are not the land of the manipulated, we are the land of the free. We are free thinkers. Most of our country is concerned with being famous and the quickest way to make money. Not realizing that our responsibility is to leave this earth in a better state for the ones after us. I do not have children yet but I have my family. My parents did everything in their power to give me a better life than their own. They took risks and stepped out into the new world in order to give my sisters and I a better future. My generation should have the same mentality. We should get out of comfert zones and make changes ourselves. We owe it to our parents who worked hard for us. Or I’m afraid it may be to late. Our leaders have control now, but the future leaders are to follow. Who will they be? And will they have the same bad habits as our present leaders? Untimely it is up to us.
